New MIni Catalogue - Tomorrow!! Yippee!!!!

Here is a card I have made for the Sketch Saturday challenge. It had to colntain lots of circles or spots or spotty paper. I have used lots of spotty paper but also used the flat back pearls scattered about as spots!
The stamp is from the brand new Soft Summer stamp set which, yes you guessed it, it available from the new mini catalogue from Stampin Up which launches tomorrow. This is a lovely set and I have used the Two Step Stampin technique on the flower in the middle.
The papers are called Tea Party and I have also used the Oval punch with the sentiment from the Soft Summer set. Those oval punches are sure gonna get a lot of use from me!!!

Added some of the new Striped grosgrain ribbon too in both PRetty in Pink and So Saffron as I was feeling greedy on this card!!!!!
I am so excited about the new catalogue tomorrow and have a big order all ready to go in!! If you would like anything please dont hesitate to contact me.
Also I have 3 places left on my new paper/ribbon share!

Happy Birthday Sarah and I've been tagged!

Today is one of my lovely downlines (Stampin up terms for team members) birthday.
Happy Birthday Sarah P hope you have a fab day and the boys spoil you rotten. I cannot show the card I made for Sarah as I have already given it when I saw her at the weekend!
I have also been tagged by 3 different people (I think its 3, might be 4!)
Anyway you have to open the fourth folder in your Pictures and go to the fourth photo and here is mine!!
Its my gorgeous boys last year when they had a "Magic Day!" at school. Ross went as Harry Potter and Evan went as a Wizard. The cape was made with my own fair hands and some needle and thread!!! Its a bit of a blurred photo for some reason but it was the fourth one!!
Hoping to be back later with a card

Playful Petal party! 2 days until Mini!!!

Well on Wednesday we can finally plae orders from the new mini catalogue!! Its been a long month waiting!!!!!!
I am having a Mini Launch Night at my house in Leeds (e mail me at julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com if you would like to come) and this is the card we will be making.
A little bit more detailed than I would normally do at a party but as some of my most regular customers are attending I though I would do a more complex card, so sorry girls, bit of cutting out for you to do!!!!
Its from the new set Playful Petals that has matching papers called Tea Party, I have coloured the flower with the inkpads but using a Blender Pen instead of an aquabrush. My friend Jo sent me a gorgeous card very similar to this and she says she uses the Blender pens loads so I had a go and I love the effect Jo, so thanks love!!!!!
The sentiment is from the Oval All set, a firm favourite already together with the matching punches!! I also sneaked a bit of the new striped grosgrain ribbon in there too!!!

If you would like to sample some of the new papers and the ribbons then I am going to do a share for them. I need 4 people to join the share and you will get the following
12 6x6 sheets of Tea party papers (2 sets of 6 designs so you can use each side)
12 6x6 sheets of Washington Apple papers (as above)
12 6x6 sheets of Ski Slope papers (as above)
2.25 metres So Saffron Striped grosgrain ribbon
2.25 metres Pretty in Pink Striped grosgrain ribbon
2.25 metres Bashful Blue Striped grosgrain ribbon

So 36 sheets of 6x6 papers and 6.75 metres of ribbon
All for the price of £12.00 including P&P
Please mail me if interested

Cheers to You!

Happy Sunday everyone, its a lovely sunny day here. I was up and ironing and pegging washing out early to take advantage of the nice day today! (Gosh my Mum would be proud of me!!!)

I have had a nice crafty hour this afternoon whilst the boys played out on the trampoline with our neighbours boy!

Cheers to You is the first set I ever bought from Stampin Up! Its amazing value, £12.95 for 6 stamps, and stamps suitable for men's cards too!!!!! You get 3 cocktail images in the set, a beer mug, a set of champagne glasses and the sentiment.

Now a lovely lady Moira comes to a card class I do and she purchased this set a few weeks ago so I promised her I would make some cards and add them to my blog!!! So here you go Moira, these are for you!! Sorry they took ages!!!

They are all quite simple cards and are all 10.5 cm square, so nice little cutey ones!!

This one is made with Pixie Pink cardstock and the sentiment stamped all over it with the same colour ink, I have decoupaged the umberella and the orange, an idea which I got from my lovely downline Lynne . Thanks Lynne

I have added some black gingham ribbon with rhinestone brads and then the new Oval punches to layer up the sentiment.

Next is a card which could be for a Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement. All using So Saffron colour scheme. The sentiment is from the new Oval All set and again I have used those Oval punches!!! (which are available from me from Wednesday!!! Woo hooo!!)

Scalloped the edge of the card to add a bit of detail and then added some rhinestones for a bit of bling!

Now the mens cards, which we all try and avoid making!!! This one is using the papers called Spiced Cider and I have used one of my new sets of Nesties!!! Coloured the image in with my markers and gone round it with Bashful Blue to make the image "pop" out.

Finally another male card using the brand new Washington Apple papers. I have cut away part of the card at the fron and added the beer on the scalloped circle, the "head" of the beer has been decoupaged too to add a bit more depth.

Again, oval punches came in very handy for this card, I think they are going to be very popular, if you would like to order anything don't hesitte to contact me!

Now then this is what my desk now looks like!!!! I hate getting all messy like this but I cannot seem to help it once I get going, so tonight I will clear up and start on Monday with a tidy desk!!!

Yesterday I went to the Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza at Harrogate with my mates Natalie and Diane. We had a lovely time but I was shattered when I got home!!! I didnt go too mad but here is a piccie of what I bought!!!!! I mainly went to buy some nesties as I have really got into those!

Happy crafting and sorry for the mammoth post!

I have used a Rub On from Stampin UP for the sentiment.

Jem's Challenge 2 - The Revenge of the Bumble Bees!

Here is my card for my team challenge, this challenge was set by the lovely Jeannette who sent us all a kit to make up a card with. Set told us we had to use every embellishment in the kit!!!!
I have to say this really pushed me out of my comfort zone, and I found it quite difficult!! The bumble bees are coloured in with So Saffron and Chocolate Chip inkpads and the papers are So Saffron and Chocolate Chip designer papers.

More Mustard and Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon
I decided to make a flower using the Oval punch which is available in 6 days time!!!!! Mail me if you would like to order it!!!! I then layered it up with the Circle of Friendship sentiment.

Hope you like it, I had a little accident on the flower, I tried to ink the edges with my markers but got a bit carried away and it went wrong!!!! Ooooppps!!

Cute Forest Friends

What a fun time I had in Sheffield on Monday night at the Field Training for Stampin Up. 3 of my lovely team managed to attend too so it was a mini get together for us which was fab!
We made 3 cards during the training session, all using the Forest Friends stamp set from the new mini catalogue, which you can order from as of next Wednesday (1st April).
The first card is the cute little "Bambi" card, stamped in Chocolate Chip and then a clever trick of stamping him onto the acetate from the Stamp a ma jig and rubbing it onto the card to create a reflection. Other colours used are So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Old Olive
Next are two tiny weeny little cards using the same set. The cute rabbit has been layered onto a scallop circle which has been punched with the hand punch. The old olive has been cut to look like grass on both cards. The tree on the other card has been coloured with the marker pens.

I will be back this evening with a card for my Jems Challenge so please check back in!!!
I also have a stamp set to give away, more details soon!!

Simple Baby Card

My Mum and Dads friends became Grandparents for the first time a couple of weeks ago so I made them this card to give to them!
Very simple layout and design. Baby stamp is a Hero Arts stamp which I think is really cute! Mounted on Nesties and raised with foam pads. The paper is from the SU Sweet Always range and the cardstock used is Pretty in Pink.

The sentiment is printed on my PC and I have stamped a frame with the Frames with a Flourish set and added some little flowers. Not forgetting the new striped grosgrain ribbon to finish it off!
I didnt intend on posting this today, I had some other things to show you as I have been a very lucky girl this weekend when the postman came on Saturday but the weather is so bad here, lashing it down with rain and wind and I cannot get a decent photo!!! Hopefully tomorrow!!!
I am going to some SU training tonight and had to make 15 cards for swaps so will post those this week too!!!
Bye for now

The good the bad and the ugly!

I am attending some Stampin Up training on Monday evening and am taking part in a card swap and have to make 15 cards the same to swap with other SU demo's.
I got it into my head that I was going to use the tree from the Forest Friends set from the Mini Catalogue, its a cute little tree and I coloured it with my markers, but I don't like the card at all!!!!!!!
Most cards that I make I actually like but this one is just not me so I have axed it from the swap and have come up with another design which is much more me!!!!!!
Thought I would still show it and learn from it!!! LOL!!!
Look at the pretty sunshine in the corner of the photo, its been a lovely day here today!!!

Playful Petal 80th

My Mum asked me to make a 80th card for a party they had been invited to. I was going to reach for my trusty Rose is a Rose set but then I saw this beautiful card made by a lovely lass Jo!
I hope you don't mind that I CASED your card JO!!!
I have cut the flowers out from the patterned Tea Party papers and layered them up. I stamped the leaves with Certainly Celery and then watercoloured them with inkpads.

A couple of brads added and some So Saffron Striped grosgrain ribbon to finish it off!!! The 80 was stamped with the Schoolbook Serif Number set

Colour combo is Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron

Proud Mum!

My son's school are having a competition tomorrow. A local florist has supplied 2 Mother's Days bouquets and will give one to the child whose card wins the Mothers Day card competition in both Key Stages!!!!!
I gave Evan, who is 6 years old all the bits for this card last night. The only thing I did for him was to mount the image onto the pale pink layer, he stuck everything down by himself without me interferring (although I was very tempted!!) Don't you love how kids love symmetry!!!!!
He took great care over this and he even asked me if he could have some gems for the middle of the flowers!!!

When he re-looked at it this morning he said, "Hmmmm, I could have stuck that picture in the middle a bit straighter!!" Wonder who he has been listening to!!!
Fingers crossed he may win me a bouquet tomorrow but if not I am so proud of my cardmaking genius!!!!

Please leave Evan a comment if you like it and I will show him them!!

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This weeks challenge on Papertake is to have something that is edible on your card, well not actually edible but you know what I mean!!!
Of course I had to reach for the Cupcakes!!!!!! You know my fondness of them by now!! However rather than going for the pinks and browns I would normally use I went for a different look!
With the Washington Apple papers as my inspiration I went for this combo and paper pieced the Cupcake
Used my new So Saffron ribbon and added a little bit of linen thread to tie the sentiment on, which is punched out with the new oval punches!!
Flowers are stamped with the One of a Kind set and punched out with the Boho Blossoms punch!
A nice bright card for a nice bright day here in Yorkshire!
Jules
P.S If you have seen all the fab new goodies in the mini catatlogue (on my sidebar) please get in touch if you would like to pre-order any items!!!! I am having a prize draw for all pre-orders that I receive!!

Roll on Summer

This is a preview of one of the items we will be making at my next class on 25th April. Its called Roll on Summer and I have been inspired by the sunnier days we have had lately to make bright and bold cards!

This card actually has no stamping involved but is using the Adhesive Die Cuts from the Simply Scrappin Kit, Petal Party

These kits are amazing value and I have opened one up to show you just how much you get for £15.50!!!! You get 8 sheets of TEXTURED 12x12 cardstock, 2 sheets of each of the 4 colours, 6 sheets of 12x12 DOUBLE SIDED patterned papers and 6 sheets of Adhesive Die cuts, 2 of each of the 3 designs. You can make loads of cards from this set and of course lots of scrapbook pages too!!!

As Stampin Up is so good at co-ordinating we also have the Best Wishes and More set which matches the papers and the die cuts so we can use stamps on our projects too if you want to!!!!

For more info on my classes or on Stampin Up products dont hesitate to mail me on julie.kettlewell@ntlworld.com

Thanks
